Last Lord of Andúnië in Númenor. Descendant from Eärendil and Elwing, although not in a straight line like the Kings. Was a member of the council of Ar-Pharazôn, and saw early that the King would not be able to stand against the will of Sauron. Amandil set out on a journey to Aman to warn Manwë against the designs of Sauron, and was never seen again.

Knowing about the GreatArmament? prepared by Ar-Pharazôn, Amandil warned his sons and Faithful followers to prepare their ships. Imitating his ancestor, Eärendil, he attempted to sail to the West to beg the Valar for mercy. It is not known if he indeed reached Aman, since he was never heard from again.
