Andreth

(S. ??)

(I 361 – I ???)

Adaneth from the House of Beor, daughter of Boromir of Ladros and sister of Bregor. She was one of the Wise, and knew many legends of the ancient days. In her youth, Andreth had dwelt long in Belemir's house and had learned from Adanel much of the lore of the People of Marach besides of her own folk. When young in Dorthonion, she met Aegnor one morning and fell in love with him. Aegnor also was enchanted by her reflection who saw in Aeluin and loved her too but could not approach her during the Siege of Angband. Finrod visited her often in Ladros because she was the only one of the Wise who could impart knowledge from her. She is famous for the recorded debate she had with Finrod in I 409, a year after Bregor's death. This debate became known as Athrabeth Finrod ah Andreth and concerned the fates of the Eruhíni. Her final fate is unknown, and it's said that maybe she was lost during the Dagor Bragollach. Andreth was also known as Saelind because of her wisdom.
