Almaren

Quenya. 'blessed place'

A large Island in the middle of the GreatLake? in the middle of Arda (Endor), during the time of the TwoLamps? extant between the Valian Years 1900 – 3450. Almaren stood at the centre of Arda, where their two lights were mingled from north and south and there was green grass on the island. On VA 1900 it became the first dwelling of the Valar (probably a city like later Valimar) and it was there where Tulkas and Nessa wedded. Almaren and the Great Lake were destroyed when Melkor assailed the TwoLamps? and threw them down. Then ended the Spring of Arda and the Valar settled to Aman, the land of the uttermost west.
