Amon Lhaw

Difference (last change) (no other diffs, normal page display)

Changed: 1c1,5
Hill of Hearing, located on the eastern bank of the Anduin above the Falls of Rauros. This hill was across from AmonHen, the Hill of Sight. Though once part of Gondor, by the time of the War of the Ring it was under the Eye of Sauron.
(S. 'Hill of ear')

One of the 3 peaks at the southern eand of NenHithoel, on the eastern banks of the Anduin, above the Falls of Rauros. A high seat was built there (probably called The Seat of Hearing), close to the earlier northern borders of Gondor. This hill was across from AmonHen, the Hill of Sight. Though once part of Gondor, the place was abandoned by the time of the War of the Ring.

Also called Hill of Hearing and perhaps Hill of the Ear in Westron.
