Uolė Kśvion

An aged Elf, who abode on the Moon, mentioned briefly in "The Tale of the Sun and Moon":

...but an aged Elf with hoary locks stepped upon the Moon unseen and hid him in the Rose, and them dwells he ever since and tends that flower, and a little white turret has he builded on the Moon where often he climbs and watches the heavens, or the world beneath, and that is UolėKśvion who sleepeth never. Some indeed have named him the Man in the Moon, but Ilinsor is it rather who hunts the stars.
HoMeI - The Tale of the Sun and Moon

On another occasion the name in Tolkiens original text was UolėMikśmi.

Christopher Tolkien notes that he seems almost to have strayed in from another conception and that his presence gives difficulty in any case. This is curious, because it hardly can refer to The Man-in-the-Moon in Roverandom, a tale which was not conceived until about a decade later...
