Tar-Meneldur

Fifth King of Númenor. Called Elentirmo (Star-watcher). He had a passion for the stars and had built a tower in Forostar in the north to observe there movements. He was the third child of Tar-Elendil.

He was born in the year 543. He ruled for 143 years, and surrendered the sceptre in 883; he died in 942.

His name was Irimon but he took the his title Meneldur from his love of star-lore. He ruled for 143 years and then resign the Sceptre early to his son Tar-Aldarion to deal with the returning threat of evil in Middle-earth that was the rising of Sauron seen by Gil-galad.
