Pelóri

'The fencing or defensive heights', also known as the Mountains of Aman and the Mountains of Defense, raised by the Valar after the destruction of their dwelling on Almaren; ranging in a crescent from north to south, close to the eastern shores of Aman. Said to be 'the highest upon Earth'.

The Calacirya was a gap in the Pelóri made for the Noldor so that they might see the stars.
