Hyarmendacil I

Hyarmendacil I, reigned TA 1015-1149. Fifteenth King of Gondor. Last and greatest of the Ship-Kings.

Given the name Ciryaher at birth, he suceeded to the throne after his father, Ciryandil, was slain during the Seige of Umbar, TA 1015. Ciryaher spent the early years of his reign building up his power, until in TA 1050 he fell upon the Haradrim by sea and land defeating them utterly. So great was Ciryaher's victory that the Kings of Harad acknowledged his lordship, and Ciryaher took the name Hyarmendacil which signifies 'South-victor'.

During the reign of Hyarmendacil Gondor reached the height of its power, expanding it's borders north, south, east, and west; and it was said that whilst Hyarmendacil sat upon the throne, no enemy dared assail Gondor.
