Gilraen

Gilraen was the daughter of Dírhael. She married Arathorn II, chieftain of the Dúnedain of Arnor in year 2929 of the Third Age. She became the mother of Aragorn II two years later. When Aragorn was only two years old, Arathorn died. Gilraen feared for Aragorn's life should Sauron discover that an Heir of Isildur still lived, and took him to Rivendell where he was fostered by Elrond. Gilraen died at a reltively young age, saying to her son, "I gave Hope to the Dúnedain, I kept no hope for myself."
