Elrohir

Elladan and Elrohir, sons of Elrond, identical twin brothers.

They fought orcs endlessly, often with the Rangers of the North. Arathorn II was killed by orcs while riding with them, and his son Aragorn II also spent much time on errantry with them. They ride with Halbarad and the other Rangers to join Aragorn in Rohan, and bring to him the advice of Elrond, The days are short. If thou art in haste, remember the Paths of the Dead. Legolas notes that their gear is 'less sombre' than that of the Rangers, and says, They are fair and gallant as Elven-lords. Before setting out from HelmsDeep, they are described as, two tall men, neither young nor old. So much alike were they, the sons of Elrond, that few could tell them apart: dark-haired, grey-eyed, and their faces elven-fair, clad alike in bright mail beneath cloaks of silver-grey. With Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and the Rangers, they tread the Paths of the Dead, and so come to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields in the nick of time. After the battle has been won, they join Aragorn in healing the wounded and those suffering from the BlackBreath.

They remained in Rivendell when Elrond passed over the sea and delayed their choice, it is unknown whether they chose the mortal life or ultimately took ship to Valinor.
