Aglon

'The Narrow Pass'.

The pass between Dorthonion and the heights to the west of Himring. A gate from Ard-galen unto Doriath. A bitter wind blew ever through it from the north.

It was of strategic importance since it joined Himlad and Lothlann, being an eastern passage from Angband to Beleriand. It was guarded by Celegorm and Curufin but during the Dagor Bragollach the Pass of Aglon was breached and the brothers fled to Nargothrond.
